Today is your birthday, Marc! September 30th! It’s a beautiful time of the year!
One of my friends sent me a text this morning, ‘Happy Birthday, Marc!’ That gesture and another’s early text just made me feel such gratitude for the great friends I have. Marc’s best friend also just texted that he’d ‘talked to Marc’ this morning, he and I are the only ones who talk to him! It’s such a ‘trip’ knowing someone else feels that close to him too!
It’s funny how you remember things from way back. Dr Hanson, who delivered Marc, only asked that we give him two cases of Teachers Scotch as payment, as I was his patient for only little over a month. He wanted to help another young professional family starting out. He was later a blessing to me as a kind of watchdog for Marc when I was going thru the divorce from his dad.
Marc, every day I sense your character, your smile …. your purpose in so many things. Sometimes classical music pieces speak so beautifully of a longing for something that is beyond our grasp. The other day a Baroque chamber music tune made me think of you …. you were the cello and I was the violin responding in our opposing yet harmonic ways. I almost had to stop my car and pull over as it made me ache and cry for you!
You’re especially close when I write, it’s like you are my fingers typing. The journey doesn’t feel so hard when my thoughts are on you or how much God is in this!
We were so lucky as a family! We did so many things the right way, so that they are lasting even now. How many parents have children who were so authentic in themselves, who were no problem to raise and were a joy to others? I was the most fortunate mom!
Marc, we miss you, we love you! Happy Birthday in heaven! Everything I do reflects how good God is to have allowed me to give birth to you! What a good boy you were!
Happyou birthday Mark 🙂
