I’m writing for Americans and those outside who wish to know what many centrists here in the U.S. think about the Ukraine war. Bridges have to be constructed between people groups to promote unity in the future fight for democracy.

I’ve created blogs on the repercussions of the Ukraine war as most Americans know about the war but some are confused about the history of the West, and Eastern geopolitical ideologies. I believe it’s important for people everywhere to understand what’s going on in Ukraine so we can support Ukraine’s right to exist, and protect our own country from oppressive political agendas. Propaganda is creeping into our lives from many corners, so true facts and clear thinking are essential if we want to preserve our national security.
For memory’s sake, in February 2022 many people around the globe were shocked to our core as we witnessed Russia attack Ukraine. We never dreamed Russia could be capable of committing such heinous crimes against its peaceful neighbor, their attacks shook the sense of security we had for years. Within a couple weeks after Russian tanks approached Kyiv Putin was talking about being “nuclear ready”. His intentions were obvious.
The attack provoked conversations around the world on the topics of freedom vs tyranny. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a sovereign country, caused individuals and countries to line up on all sides to declare their disgust with Russia, their wish to remain neutral or their support of tyranny. Many of us have gained or lost friends over the war.

The Ukraine war triggered great social media outcry due to the severity of Russia’s attacks on Ukrainian citizens. Instead of conducting the war in a traditional manner, and attacking the Ukrainian army, Russia has done the unthinkable and brazenly attacked citizens and their infrastructure. Genocide became the new unspeakable word on our lips.
This is why many civilians from around the world have rushed to support Ukraine by sending money, supplies or volunteering to serve in the country in some manner. The Ukraine war is a “Peoples War”, not solely a political event.
