We all have wake-up calls from time to time where the scales of confusion drop from our eyes and we see a person for who they really are, or we see an issue in a whole new light. I had a wake-up call like that recently after the Ukraine War started.
I knew next to nothing about Ukraine so I began researching everywhere about the nation and the conflict. As the situation rapidly changed and a genocide was obviously being committed, I couldn’t shake the fact the world was going thru a huge turning point in history.
My research was gratifying to me as a freedom lover, but I also found out the world outside my sphere of life was in alot more flux than I previously imagined. Competing social, religious and political ideologies were bombarding us on social media, some was so encouraging but other posts just flooded the topic with info that was not just untrue but meant to attack normal civilized society.
In my research I found out most Americans (70+ %) are behind Ukraine’s right to exist even though some of our leaders seem to deny the decades long Cold War ever existed. I also discovered that Europe is almost unanimously behind Ukraine, some members of the EU have supported Ukraine in what amounts to magnanimous gestures.
However, I’m mystified by the role of NATO, it’s not making it’s strategy clear. Ukraine isn’t a member of NATO but Russian TV propagandists have been promising war with many EU countries, and Russia’s military has been sending drones on Ukraine’s neighbors, sabotaging EU cables, and airports around Europe. NATO simply needs to declare some intentions to counteract the multiple threats from Russia, so the public is assured of safety.
Lastly, I find it completely shameful and derelict how the U.N., Amnesty International and the IRC (International Red Cross) and others… are behaving towards Ukraine and the genocide. Their inept recognition of the Ukraine war plus their keeping Ruzzia on the Security Council is reason enough to disband the orgs or renovate them completely. The liberal world agencies have failed to stop tyranny against Ukraine, and that’s a huge concern.
I detest conspiracies, attacking personalities, and I try to present facts that enlighten. In the case of Ukraine, the facts are quite clear that Ruzzia is the historical aggressor again in Ukraine. Ukraine’s freedom is being paid for in blood by her own citizens, and passionately defended by many around the world who value freedom and democracy.
