It’s been a blessing to have people share about Marc these last four months. Their words will stay in my heart forever. It’s like each of them has been able to see inside Marc’s heart or character and seen some of what I’ve known to be true all these years.
Two weeks ago I needed to contact Marc’s recent boss and she told me, “I’m so sorry for your loss! Marc was a wonderful employee, he was a wonderful man!”
Marc’s life long friend Chris wrote me recently, “! still hold Marc close to me. I can clearly hear his laugh and see his face cracking up like we always did. I was never a spiritual person but Marc has turned me into one and it’s something I have learned to accept and be grateful for.’
Marc’s condo doorwoman Dorean told me a few weeks ago, “I talk to Marc every day when I come to work!”
Marc’s former boss Patrick, in L.A., spoke with a sad heart at Marc’s Memorial and said, “Being a believer, Marc is alive today. We suffer the loss of those left behind. Our sorrow is great, sometimes unbearable, yet our joy is much greater. This is our comfort, our joy, our faith …. and now I wait to see Marc again.”
Just yesterday I got to speak with Marc’s former Executive Chef Instructor Brian, and I dissolved in tears when he came to the phone. He told me how sorry he’d been to hear about Marc. He told me, “I was honored to know him! Marc was seriously one of the nicest guys I’ve known in all my years of teaching. All of us instructors did our share of crying after we heard the news and we all told our Marc stories.”
As Marc’s mom I’m so grateful for their good words. Marc was truly a very personable man, and it’s so rewarding to see how others saw and valued that aspect in him. All the years we lived, shared and cared …. it counted! I’m carrying on for you Marc!
