From my living room to yours I want to thank you for reading this blog! There are many things begging for your attention, so I appreciate the fact you’re reading this.
Last week was the anniversary of Marc’s homicide –
It seems inconceivable it ever happened! You never think you’ll walk thru the valley of the shadow of death with your child. There’s no textbook that describes how a parent can walk thru that chasm of life to death. Each parent has to join hands with the Creator and others to carve out a meaningful answer for it all.
I heard last week, “Your pain is either your platform or your prison.” That’s so true. Every parent who goes thru this bitter lesson is left with only two choices… you either fight the pain or hide the pain. It requires all your energy and courage to climb out of the pit of shock and self pity, and it’s so worth it. I could only reach the top again because of you, God and other supports. I pray for grieving parents to grasp this: You can’t shut yourself off from the world and heal by yourself. In any kind of misery. So… thank you all again!
I haven’t abandoned this blog –
This website went thru renovation last February/March, as the theme I had on WordPress couldn’t be renewed. I also sought out another web server to enhance my security and such. I still have yet to update the photos on some of the older posts. It’s been slow going as I’m working on some joint writing efforts, & have had a busy work schedule.
The theme in my blog has also shifted somewhat as the Ukraine war has been competing for my attention a lot. I hope you’ve read some of the posts I’ve written on that topic recently. I’m reading many Twitter open source reports & articles daily since the war started. I’m outraged by Russia’s attempt to wipe Ukraine off the map. I and others see it as a precursor to attacks on other countries in Eastern Europe. Russian missiles have already crippled Ukrainian energy and food shipments. Certainly Putin’s talk of being nuclear ready tells us the war has serious world wide significance.
I follow daily both Western & Eastern European military types, journalists, leaders and average Ukrainian citizens to get a good picture of what’s going on. Plus, I met an artist from Kyiv, (Serge), who helped educate me on the history of the East Europe/Russian geopolitical region. Russia has not only caused horrendous destruction to Ukraine but has deprived many countries the grains, produce they need to stave off the effects of famine. NATO and IAEA have gotten involved to help stop the grain blockade and a nuclear reactor meltdown.
I’m committed to sharing more on the topic of the war. We must not live under nuclear threats. There are simple things we can do to stop Russia, and Ukraine has masterfully shown us some basic strategies.
RE: my book “Faced My Fears In Portland” –
I want to thank everyone who’s purchased a copy! Some of you have left a review on Amazon which has been helpful to the book’s rating. It’s slowly being marketed. Everyone wants to sell many books soon but it doesn’t work that way, unless you are a known writer. Even with a large publisher, authors still have to market their own material. I’ve been sharing, selling the book to people in real life as vs. selling to general public temporarily. Am working on further marketing.
The e-book is available on amazon.com or at your favorite book seller. Paperback can be found on Amazon only for the time being at a very reasonable price. In the book I share the entire story of Marc’s case, my journey and the story of detectives/courts working side by side in a large American city. I also write about my forgiving the defendants. It’s a story unlike most you will ever read –
